It is very affordable to study in a small city because the costs for a living are less. For a studio apartment or a one-bedroom apartment, you are looking to pay between 100 – 200 euros a month. The prices depend on location.
Culture has always been an essential part of the past and presents the image of Svishtov. During the Bulgarian Renaissance, with the efforts of distinguished members of the Svishtov community the town came to originate a number of pioneering initiatives for Bulgaria.
Svishtov is a town in northern Bulgaria, located on the right bank of the Danube river opposite the Romanian town of Zimnicea. The unique river valley is one of the most beautiful places (1 to 2 km away from the town) which hosts the monastery of Svishtov; the region called Pametnitsite (The Monuments) on the banks of the Danube and the park around the old fortress in the centre the town.
The first settlers of the site near the town of today came here in the time of the Middle Neolithic (3000 - 2600 BC). Novae - the former Roman castle - initially sprang as headquarters of a Roman Legion. Gradually it turned into an important economic and cross-roads center. The archaeological excavations near the town of Svishtov revealed ancient city remains of inestimable historic value.
In the territory of Svishtov, there are presently 120 official archaeological, art, and architectural monuments of culture of local and national significance. Entire ensembles of architectural monuments dating from the 18th and 19th c. have been preserved. Among the town's highlights are the numerous stately temples built by patriotic Svishtov inhabitants.
