Coming to study in Bulgaria is a great chance to discover your personal potential. We will guide you through your application process for studying in Bulgaria.

About the SIB system

You can apply for up to five courses at once through the SIB system for a small administration fee

Bulgaria's universities, colleges, medical schools, engineering schools, and law schools are highly respected and well-known in the education and academic communities, and they continue to offer prestigious Bachelor's, Master's, and Ph.D. programmes. Feel free to choose from some of the most competitive degrees in the best universities in Bulgaria.

By SIB system you can apply to study in Bulgaria in some chosen public and private universities. The listed programs are in English, German, French, Russian, Italian. All candidates who want to study a preparation course in Bulgarian language and to apply for a program in the Bulgarian language, should choose the university and confirm that with a positive answer that she/he needs Preparation course – Bulgarian language studies for foreign students, full time.

All listed programs in the system by universities are only in foreign languages.

In Bulgaria, you can find plenty of top-ranked universities that take their rightful place next to some of the biggest international university names.

How does it work?

Step 1: How to fill in the application form?

1. Answer the questions about your personal information
2. Answer the questions about your educational background
3. Answer the questions about your work experience/training
4. Answer the questions about your foreign language proficiency
5. Select your university and the chosen course
6. Upload your documents.
7. Send your application to SIB system.

Step 2: Print and sign the application

When you finish your online application, you will receive the filled document in PDF format by email. You need to print the file and send it with the original signature, together with certified copies of all your documents. All applicants have an individual number.
By email, you will receive also and a proforma invoice which includes your individual number, family name, given name and your date of birth.

Step 3: Pay your handling fees by bank (payment)

Once you submit your application, you will receive a confirmation email and later an invoice for Application fees.
You can choose up to five programs.
Costs for the first study program: 50.00 EUR
For each additional study program: 15.00 EUR
If you apply for five programs, total fees are 110.00 EUR

All payments are by a bank transfer. Filling in your transfer order:
• Your SIB system applicant number
• Your family name
• Your given name
• Your date of birth (dd.mm.yyyy)

The fees do not include bank charges and the candidate is responsible for paying the application (handling) fees. Your bank can give you information on any additional transfer fees. Please take into account all bank charges before settling the final amount. Unpaid fees might lead to further expenses.
We are unable to process your application before we receive the fee in full.

Step 4: Send your documents

Bulgarian universities require certified copies of all your documents. In addition to your online application, you need to submit these documents on paper.

1. Application form including your individual number
2. Bank document for paid fees (transfer order from the bank including bank stamp)
3. A brief CV
4. A copy of Passport
5. A copy of the Secondary School Diploma and its Supplement(s)/ A certified translation of the diploma for a completed degree of higher education and its Supplement(s)
6. A document, issued by competent authorities, which testifies to the right of the applicant to further his/her education at a university level in the country where they have completed their secondary school education
7. A Transcript of Records
8. A Medical Certificate of Health issued within a month prior to the application date and verified by the competent authorities in the country from which the applicant submits his/her file
9. Passport-size photographs
10. Language certificate

When we receive your documents, we will send them to your chosen universities. They approve the documents of each applicant and then submit the students’ application files to the Ministry of Education and Science. 

The Ministry of Education and Science issues a Certificate of Admittance testifying to the acceptance or rejection of the applicant.

To obtain a D Visa (as a student), you have to visit in person the Bulgarian embassy or the consular service in the respective country, presenting the MES certificate, a passport, and letter of accommodation.
